Digital Imaging/X-Rays

Dr. Dina chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken.  Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth and upper sinuses, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Dr. Dina utilizes digital imaging technologies within the office. With digital x-rays, exposure time is about 50 percent less, and radiation about 1/6th, when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital x-rays offer more precision in detecting cavities since we review the images on a computer monitor, and the software allows us to adjust and enhance the images in many different ways.  Dr. Dina always reviews x-rays with her patients, so you’ll get a front row seat to this technology!

Intraoral Camera

Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.

Dr. Dina utilizes intraoral camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. (In fact, it’s her personal favorite!)  Our intraoral camera looks like a small ‘wand’.  It allows us, and you, to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth, and gums, in order to accurately make a diagnosis. We also use it for effective before/after treatment comparisons.  With clear, defined, enlarged images, we see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Digital imaging also allows us to save your images and create a permanent record of treatment.  These images can be quickly and easily transferred to our specialists, electronic claims, and lab, or printed for you.
